FAQ

How do I apply the Natural Beeswax Paste?

Scoop a nickel-sized amount of product with your fingertips.  Work vigorously in the palms to warm it up making it soft, pliable, and easier to distribute throughout the hair.  Apply evenly starting at the crown of your head and working towards the front.  For combed and longer styles, may need to dampen hair slightly for better application.  Apply more if necessary.

What type of finish does it provide?

It provides a natural matte finish that's not greasy looking and it won't leave sticky residue or flakes in your hair.

Does it wash out easily?

Yes, it's water-based and does not contain petroleum oil type ingredients which means it washes out easily with water.

What does it smell like?

It features a light vanilla scent that’s not overpowering and won’t interfere with your cologne.

Why?

Was excited to see that the product was back in stock so I purchased 3 only to be met with this monstrosity of a product. I thought maybe one went bad because I saw gray, only to realize that they were all gray slop. The product is easier to spread, however the hold compared to the previous (arguably perfect) product was much better and more consistent. Bring back the old!

Do NOT BUY - formula has changed, does not work

What on earth is Mister Pompadour thinking? They had the best product on the market and have replaced it with god knows what.

Do not bother purchasing, they have changed the formula. Find another brand.

Terrible New Change

I used to love this product. The new formula is awful. What a disappointment. Going to have to try something else now and move away from these guys. Change back to the old solution.

New formula from Fall 2025 is terrible

First, the "pre-Fall-2025" formulation of this product was absolutely perfect in all ways: perfect scoop texture, perfect finish, perfect hold, perfect fragrance. I loved it and enjoyed every second of it. EVEN the kneading of it in my palm before applying. It was a great experience.

The "fall 2025" product is horrendous. It's not even close in any regard. The appearance is gross: air pockety, muddy, gray (not the smooth cream-white like before). The scent reminds me NOTHING of vanilla (old scent was soft and subtle, but so pleasing). The finish and hold are just meh. They are ok but nothing stands out. There are actually other products out there with identical finish and hold to this, that actually have a pleasing appearance and fragrance.

This is such a downgrade I am in disbelief.

My hunch is that they reformulated because some folks complained about the old formulation being too thick. Some folks didn't have the patience to work the product in their hands before spreading. This is very sad. That process is what made the old product perfect. It softened and warmed the product to perfect working temp and consistency. It was pure delight.

To Matt and others a Mister Pompadour: BRING BACK THE OLD FORMULA. BRING IT BACK AS "PREMIUM LINE" IF YOU HAVE TO. Also, rather than design a new product, maybe work on educating your customers on "proper use" guidelines.
